CCC Workers Planting Trees

CCC workers planting trees high in the mountains of the Columbia National Forest near this place. The forest service plans to reforest one hundred thousand acres of an area destroyed by fire in 1902. Each man carries a bag of young fir trees, two years old, planting in eight hours about 705 trees in an area of an acre. The trees now being planted will be marketable in form 80 to 100 years.
